Another song that I found on youtube is by Peach Martine called Disco Barbie. The artist has a pop image along side the song which has a dance pop feel. Peach is similar to many successful artists in the same genre, for example Selena Gomez. Booth music videos they have a similar vibe, Even though Selena Gomez's video had a bigger budget.
With my music video idea I would like to enhance this narrative.
Story Line
The video will have the storyline of the disco Barbie getting ready to go out. while she is getting ready and talking about Ricky there will also be a montage of Ricky getting ready to go out. During the course of the song when there is dance music playing there will be 2 pairs of dancers who will do a choreographed dance matching the music which will match the energetic vibe to the song.
Colour scheme
As this song is very upbeat I would use bright colours as the colour scheme for this video as it reflects the upbeat dance atmosphere that I want to create.
During the dance scene I would like multi coloured lights filling up the room to further create a dance disco aesthetic.
Set
In disco barbies scene of getting ready she would be sitting in front of a vanity looking at the camera through the mirror and singing the words. Then there would be a cut of the boy, getting ready in a room with blue lights and a mirror so he can also look at himself while getting ready.
Costume
The lead singer will be wearing a bright coloured dressing gown and rollers in her hair while she is getting ready. This helps further create a disco feel to the video and the character as the song is called “Disco Barbie”. The vanity will also add a glamorous aesthetic which will help show the artists image of being seen as glamorous and stylish. The boy would be wearing a white shirt and smart trousers like he is about to go out.
