  • We thought that she should change the background but use the same colour pallete (pink).
  • Love the pictures of skylar on the site.
  • Should include merchandise
  • We really like the colour scheme works with all the products

  • They really liked colour scheme and thought it fit well with the pop conventions
  • We thought that we should change the font and use Bellas font
  • The picture on the inside right cover should be more clear

 Development of the Back Cover

I first started started with the shoes tinted blue but I didn't think that it was effective and it looked quite boring. here is the evolution of the back cover.

I came to the conclusion that the simplicity of the photo of just skylar is a lot more effective and is more eye catching. I purposely cut out half of Skylar's face as it shows of the jacket and her style and it also made it look less generic and more interesting. She looks more mysterious which is what we are looking for as the new artist starts to grow in the pop genre.

When I found the perfect photo I started to put the track list and the legal information on it.
I found the right font and adjusted the colour as I thought it would be better for the style of the music video as we had lighter brighter colours.

I used a brighter pink with blue highlights as it fits better with the whole campaign. When looking into music campaigns I noticed that it is important for the colour pallete of the products to by coherent as it looks more appealing to the eye and everything links together.

 Development of the digipak

I initially was going to have the phone on the back cover. But I then decided it would look cooler if it was the cd cover instead. I like this picture a lot more than what it was before.

I then went onto photoshop and made into a cd disc. As it is already circular it was easy to do. It also looked better as it was in a circle.

 Development of the Digipak

I decided to change the inside cover of the digipak. I took a picture of a disco ball. I then removed the background and changed the colour of the ball. I repeated this until I had the whole page covered

I then decided to add different effects on the disco balls to make it more interesting,

I  then layered a picture of Skylar on top of it and lowered the transparency so you could also see the disco balls.

This inside cover worked a lot better with the style of the digipak and also worked better with her star image.
As we are trying to sell the artist, it is better if we have a clearer image of skylar however still making it eye catching.

 Development of Front Cover

I was really happy with the change of my front cover however it still needed work.

I decided to change the colour however after looking at it again I thought that it drowned out the artist.

I then decided to try another design. The colours work alot better within the whole campaign and with this design the artist pops out more.

I then put all the titles and made sure to put the title of Skylars name a lot bigger as it needs to be the focal point to further promote the artist.

 Development of front cover

After looking at the pictures that I took, I thought that it would be better to do another shoot as I now know exactly what I want and how to take it.

I used this photo for the front cover

I think put a colour on it and cropped it in a way so you couldn't see much of the background. I also thought it would be nice to duplicate the photo to make a hazy effect. I thought it could make her look more interesting but it didn't look right and the background did not look professional enough.

I decided to go on photoshop and edit out the background. I took a picture of Skylar's lips so I could use it as the centerpiece for the background. It is eye catching and really appeals to a pop teen audience as it is aesthetically cool and shows of Skylar's looks further.

I cropped the picture so you could just see the lips. On photoshop I cut around the picture so you just got the lips.

Here is the process of this photo coming together.

I loved how it turned out. It looks a lot better than before and it is really eye catching, which is what we want so people will be more inclined to purchase the product. I may to do a few more tweaks to get it perfect but so far I am really happy with my progress.

Second Photoshoot for the digipak

I decided to do another photo shoot with skylar as I don't think I captured her star image and her confidence enough in the first shoot.

 Second attempt

After the first attempt of the front cover I was told that the picture looked to pop and more sweet girl and not confident trendsetter. I was also told that the background also needed to be more interesting. So I decided to play around with another photo from the photo shoot and use a picture that I took in a cathedral as it had detailed pretty artwork.

I didn't really like this version as I think that the star image of the artist weren't shown in the cover. I also did not like the font or the use of colour in the font. I will stick to the colour white. I will also organise a second photoshoot with the artist.

 First front cover design

This was the first front cover that I made for Skylar. I used the pop genre conventions that would add to her star image. This is how I made it.

I started with laying this photo down and colouring it pink

I then added the same photo again but used a shade over the picture

I made sure both of the photos were in line with each other and then used the transparency tool so you can see both of the photos.

This was the product I made without any of the titles.

 First try of digipak

These are the possible inside covers for the digi pack. As Skylars star image is very important for the cover as she is selling herself more that her music as she is a synthetic pop artist. I need to make sure the cover portrays her as confident and unique however still shows her as a pop artist and conveys the pop genre conventions.

 First photoshoot for the digipak

Here is the first photo shoot I did of Skylar. I had all my ideas of what I wanted on the digi pack so I made sure I captured it.

 Working on the digipak

Before I do the photoshoot with Skylar tonight, I looked at different fonts that I could possibly use for the digipak.

I also looked at what colour scheme I could use for the cover.
